Before moving to Haiti, we knew that our "new normal" would be so incredibly different than anything we had ever experienced before - however we knew that throughout, God would be constant and we would cling to him more than ever. Here is just a taste of what our "new normal" looks like ...
*Going to the grocery store and passing by men with LARGE guns who keep the store/lot safe but also passing by the lady with two arms, no hands and the biggest smile I've ever seen :)
*Living at a guesthouse with the largest bathroom either of us have ever had and an amazing balcony to enjoy sun rises/sets - overlooking families still living in tents 2+ years after the earthquake.
*Bittersweet rain: when the entire city is covered in dust, but knowing the families in tents will be wet and covered in mud for days afterward.
*Feeding a dog that I think outweighs me 3 chicken hot dogs every morning and thankful that God finally gave me a dog (yeah!!) and equally thankful that God gave us Mr. Brown as our 4 legged security system in addition to barbed wire walls and a locking metal gate.
